Star Anise, Whole
Dried seed pods in the shape of a star from an evergreen tree in South China, Vietnam, and Japan. Flavor is similar to regular anise seed but more pungent and bitter. Used in Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese cuisine. These unique whole stars are often used in potpourris and holiday decorations.
